Trailflix: Old Great North Road - Trail Description
1. Drive/ride on board the free car & passenger ferry at Wiseman’s Ferry
2. Turn left after you leave the ferry
3. The gate into the trail is about 500M
4. Head up the steady incline to the top of the hill (2K)
5. Turn right towards Finches Line & 10 Mile Hollow (Don't go into Finches. It narrows to a walking track, unsuitable for bikes)
6. Mostly wide ridge trail & some rolling terrain (15K)
7. Past the Western Commission Track on your right
8. Mostly rolling terrain with a great downhill (7K)
9. Past the open area at Ten Mile Hollow
10. Over the disused bridge (take care)
11. About 1K to Clare’s Bridge & turnaround
12. Turn around is usually here (though the trail continues towards Bucketty - plus see below). Head back & take the Western Commission Track turnoff
13. Mostly rolling terrain with a great downhill at the end(8K)
14. Turn right when you hit the highway and head towards the trailhead (3K) All figures approximate.
15. Alternative to #12. From Clare's bridge it's another 25+km to Sullivans Arms Fire Trail which (if you turn left onto it) will take you back to Wollombi Road and left back to Wisemans (at least 50Km)
