Trailflix: Wingello State Forest - Trail Description
Wingello State Forest is a mixed native and pine forest with opportunities for novice and expert MTB’ers alike. In recent years a network of purpose-built trail (singletrack) has been built to complement the forest tracks and roads. Three trails have been way-marked in the forest, one of which includes almost 10Km of singletrack.

Water, toilets and camping are available.

The Blue Trail is ideal for novices or families. It is relatively flat, following a loop south of the Trailhead through the pine forest occasionally bordering native forest and open farmland. There are a few short rocky climbs and descents.

The Yellow Trail stays on forest roads for its whole length, and offers some fast rocky descents and steep climbs, particularly along Basin Road. It is suitable for reasonably fit riders able to tackle a couple of long-ish climbs.

The Red Trail is a superb loop that takes in most of the purpose built singletrack as well as some beautiful native forest and fern-lined tracks. It contains narrow twisting singletrack, rocky firetail and some steep uphills. It is suitable for experienced MTB’ers.
